It was late on a Wednesday and this was essentially the only place still open and I'm glad I stumbled across it. The guy, who I presume is the owner, was super nice. There are something like 50 different types of Biryani so I asked him to help me choose something different. Everyone has shrimp biryani, so give me something nobody else has. He suggested one with lamb meatballs and another one with a heavily spiced chicken. Both were great. Heat level was what I had asked for. I also got a nice cup of masala chai for free while I waited and he threw in some of those donut balls soaked in simple sugar. The food was great. The help was great. The owner was great. It was all simply...great.

Great flavors‼ Large portions‼ Helpful staff It has been on my mind to try 21 Biryani Pots for way too long. Today was my maiden voyage.. I couldn't decide between many of their dishes, they all sound so delicious. I ended up with a Paneer Curry Biryani. From the first taste through the moment I felt full, each bite blew my mind and palette with layers of flavors. I asked for mild.. it still had a kick.. but I managed it knowing that these spices are like medicine on a very hot day. I digested it well and cannot wait to return again and again to check out Dosas, other Biryani pots and more‼ Local, friendly and the BEST Indian food in The Conejo.. IMHO

My Birthday Surprise: A Halal Indian Adventure Thanks to My Amazing Wife! So, it was my birthday, and my lovely wife decided to treat me to a culinary adventure. She surprised me with a visit to this place, and what made it even more special was the fact that it's Halal. Now, let me tell you, I'm a bit of an Indian restaurant connoisseur, and I judge them by one thing - their Mango lassi. This place passed the color test with flying colors, and it tasted like pure perfection. But that's not all! The Mango lassi was not served in those cheap Styrofoam cups, and they definitely didn't taste watered down. So far, so good. We decided to go all out and ordered a paneer biryani and a lamb biryani. Both were absolutely delicious. But the real adventure began when we ordered a potato dosa and a plain one. The plain dosa was, well, plain - nothing to write home about. But the potato dosa? Oh, that was something else. It was our first time trying it, and the dipping sauces stole the show. One was peanut, the other, well, I forgot, and the third was like a dahl soup. These sauces deserve an award. Now, here's the messy part. The dosa is light, but when you take a bite, it crumbles all over the place. Let's just say, it's not a first-date dish if you're trying to impress someone with your table manners. Now, the reason I'm not giving this place a full 5 stars is a bit of a rollercoaster. We arrived at 5:13 pm, and according to their website, they open at 5:00 pm. Surprise, surprise - it was closed. We were about to call it quits and leave when Dabeda (I think that's how you spell it) waltzed in. We decided to cut her some slack and took a little stroll while she got things in order. Now, about that Butter chicken we ordered - it never made it to our table. We were done eating, packing up leftovers, and still, no Butter chicken. It would've been nice to have it with the rest of our meal. Here's the scoop on how they can improve: Timely openings - stick to the schedule, folks! More servers - a bit of extra help would go a long way, especially dealing with to go orders not interfering with walk-ins. A better website design - it was a bit wonky on our phones, only showing part of the menu. Add dosa to the menu officially - don't keep it a secret. Sort out the menu - no need for decision fatigue. Update the physical menus - if you're not serving Chinese food anymore, cover it up. Provide to-go containers for the sauces - we don't want to waste a drop of that deliciousness. Have a halal certificate posted. Despite the ups and downs, we live in Ventura County, and this is hands down the best Indian food we've had around here. We'll definitely be back to try more dishes. Cheers to culinary adventures and the quirks that come with them!
